Lab Bead Baths
MRC beads by design, provide a concurrent thermal and antimicrobial activity that efficiently shields the lab and personnel from invading organisms while thermally heating and cooling.
What is the difference between hot water baths and hot baths with metal beads
Heated water baths are common in laboratories and are used to heat media in glass and plastic utensils: test tubes, cups and Erlenmeyer.
Water baths have several disadvantages:
- Accumulate dirt and contaminants and should be taken care of and emptied and refilled every few weeks,
-Wetting the dishes and test tubes, the dishes should be dried from the bath,
-The water evaporates and there is a danger of a body burning from heating,
-The water evaporates on the lid and liquids interfere with work.
- The baths and lids get corrosion.
- The heating range is limited to the boiling temperature up to 100 degrees Celsius.
Heated baths with metal beads-Bead Baths solve these problems and replaces the use of water baths (without circulation and without shaker).
-Because the beads are a dry material they are less polluting
-No more need to use test tube stands.
- The uniformity of temperature obtained in a beaded bath is excellent thanks to the good heat conduction of the metal.
- The metal beads also replace the aluminum test tube block in the dry baths
And also replaces the ice.
-The heating power required for heating is 50% less than that required for a water bath.
-Heating range up to 180 Celsius.
