Laboratory shakers are instruments that help to form a homogenous mixture from more than one ingredient. Used in many types of industry, such as food and beverage, cosmetic,
pharmaceutical, and electronics, as well as labs that deal with life sciences, wastewater treatment, and biotech, laboratory shakers are an important part of many labs.
Laboratory shakers do just that - shake the mixtures that are placed on them. Plates vibrate back and forth or circularly to mix the components. Some laboratory shakers have plates that tilt up and down as well as side to side for an added mixing element.
The first step in choosing the right machine is to decide the vibration speed, how adjustable the speed is, and if the plate tilts as well as vibrates. The second step is to choose which movement you need such as: orbital, rocking, twisting, waver etc.
Types of laboratory shakers
The type of movement of the shaker:
Rocker Shaker - Movement at a fixed angle up and down.
linear shaker-Forward and backward movement
Circular shaker -Circular motion in one plane
Twist shaker-Integrated circular motion swing
Dual Motion Reciprocal shaker
Double stage shaker-Allows you to mix twice the amount of dishes
Shaker for cold room or cold incubator:
Suitable for work at 4 degrees Celsius and is not damaged as a result.
Shaker laboratory for CO2 incubator
-A standard shaker does not withstand the conditions found in a CO2 incubator.
-Shaker designed to work in a CO2 incubator.
-There is a separate control that is outside the incubator.
Shaker with heating (also possible to cool)
-Air heating or water heating.
-Air heating-called incubator shaker.
-Water heating - called a water bath with a shaker.
