Chambers controlled by temperature and humidity offer stable storage settings in which the temperature and humidity may be manipulated, enabling customers to research and evaluate the lifespan of their goods.
The atmosphere of a humidity control chamber is maintained at the desired dew point temperature before being heated to the desired air temperature. Maintaining a steady dew point as well as air temperature will yield a relative humidity that is very stable.
The chambers can regulate humidity and temperature since relative humidity accounts for temperature. The relative humidity is simply a ratio between the moisture as well as the air is carrying and the amount of moisture it is capable of retaining. The temperature has a significant impact on the amount of moisture that air can store, with higher temperatures typically allowing for more moisture capacity. Humidity is always related to temperature; consequently, to correctly and precisely manage humidity, you must also control temperature.
Stability chambers generate particular conditions to assess product stability and optimum shelf life. Stability refers to the chamber's use in the pharmaceutical and other sectors. Essentially, a Humidity chamber may function as a Stability chamber, but it is also useful in a variety of different sectors. A stability chamber is a humidity chamber used to assess the product's stability.
As its name indicates, reach-in chambers are often smaller, simpler to install in confined places, and less expensive initially. Walk-in rooms are more costly and need more preparation in advance. However, walk-in coolers are less expensive per cubic foot storage capacity, making them an excellent solution if you want to test big amounts of goods.
The use of a Temperature humidity chamber includes product testing at various setpoints, such as testing circuit boards in the electronics sector, maintaining regulated temperature and humidity conditions for medicine storage within the pharmaceutical business, and testing paper in the Paper industry.
The device consists of three systems:
-Heating System,
-Cooling system
- Humidity system
Step-by-step: How do humidity chambers work?
Air added to a water spray:
A part of the air that is returning from the space that is conditioned is routed via a temperature-controlled water spray area. Adjustments are made to the water spray to ensure the temperature of the dew point of the desired condition. Whenever air travels through the water spray, its temperatures become cooler to attain the water's temperature and approaches saturation.
Air gets out of the spray chamber:
The air is then combined with air that already bypassed the spray area after passing through a mist eliminator, which eliminates any extra water vapor.
Air returns to conditioned space:
The air returns to the conditioned area after passing above an electric heater to reheat it to the correct dry-bulb temperature.
Using the aforementioned technology, very accurate humidity control is attained. The system does not differentiate between humidifying and dehumidifying. Instead, it constantly sets a dew point and reheats.
An RH sensor in the controlled environment automatically adjusts the water spray temperature based on the response it gets. In case the set point becomes lower than the actual situation, the water spray temperature will drop progressively till the RH set point is reached. the water spray temperature is gradually raised until the RH set point is reached.
An RH sensor in a controlled environment automatically adjusts the water spray temperature based on the response it gets. The water spray temperature will drop progressively until the RH set point is reached. In case the set point has become lower than the real condition. Whenever the relative humidity set point is higher than the actual condition, the temperature of the water spray is gradually raised until the RH set point is reached.
For situations requiring a dew point below freezing, a desiccant drier is used until the appropriate amount of humidity is reached.
